A Philpot man was arrested late Monday night after allegedly trying to steal a boat in Daviess County.
            According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, 40 year old Timothy Oliver attempted to steal a twenty-two foot fishing boat at the 8000 block of Highway 2830.
            It was reported that Oliver was driving a red truck with loud exhaust pipes.
            Deputies observed the vehicle at the Hillbilly II Truck Stop on Highway 2380 where Oliver was found.  He reportedly ran from deputies and was not compliant to the point where he had to be tased.
            After his arrest, Oliver was charged with attempted theft of a boat, DUI, operating on a DUI suspended operator’s license and criminal mischief due to allegedly damaging the victim’s front yard.
            He was lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center.
