Daytime Closures Planned on KY 136 Starting Monday

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans daytime closures on KY 136 in western Henderson County starting Monday, July 23, 2012.

These closures along KY 136/Alzey-Mt. Vernon Road running from Smith Mills west to KY 268 near the Ohio River are to allow about a half-dozen cross drains to be replaced to prepare for a future paving project in this area.  These closures run from near KY 359 at mile point 12.342 westward to KY 268 at mile point 6.503.

Motorists who need to reach the west end of KY 136 may self-detour via KY 268 through Geneva.

Local access will be maintained on each side of the closure point.  The actual closure point will move on a daily basis.  Work in this area is expected to take about a week to complete.

Approximately 200 vehicles travel this section of KY 136/Alzey-Mt. Vernon Road in an average day.
