Evansville Officers Injured Monday Night While Responding to Call
Two Evansville Police cars were involved in an injury crash last night while both were responding to a call. Just after 10:00pm, officers were responding to a call where a person was reported to have been shot. The crash happened at the intersection of Governor and Sycamore as both cars had emergency lights and sirens activated and approached at the same time causing a crash. Witness say a stop sign that was supposed to be up at one point of the intersection had been damaged and lying on the ground, which may have played a role in the crash. Two officers from one car, and the officer from the second, were all transported to Deaconess Hospital for their injuries. Their names and extent of injuries will be released later today.
