Free Diabetes Adventure Camp for Children Coming to Henderson County
The Henderson County Diabetes Coalition (HCDC) will offer a FREE Diabetes Adventure Camp for Children with diabetes and their parents/guardians. This event is opened to children ages 5 – 15 with diabetes and their parents/guardians.
The Diabetes Adventure Camp will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. The location is St. Margaret Chapel, 685 Watson Lane, Henderson, KY.
Fun activities for the kids will be led by the Boy Scouts of America. Parents are invited to attend fun networking activities. Diabetes vendor booths will be displayed with company representatives providing updated information on insulin pumps, meters, and insulin.
In addition, Sanofi-Aventis US will host a guest speaker Jim Murphy, who is a trained A1C Champion. Jim has lived with Type 1 diabetes for 22 years and will share his experience of living with and managing his diabetes. Jim states “I manage my diabetes…it doesn’t manage me.” You won’t want to miss this opportunity so call today to reserve your spot.
