Man Arrested Early Sunday after Chase in Daviess, Spencer Counties
A man was arrested early today (Sunday) after a pursuit that went across the Kentucky/Indiana state line a couple of times. Just after midnight, a KSP trooper attempted to stop a vehicle in Daviess County on an alleged suspicion of driving under the influence. The driver, Andrew D Dampier, led police on a pursuit that went into Spencer County, Indiana. Dampier reportedly struck a Spencer County Deputy’s vehicle causing a crash, then went back into Kentucky where KSP reports stop sticks were used, which ended the pursuit a short time later. Dampier was arrested and charged with a third offence of first degree fleeing or evading police with aggravated circumstances, driving on a DUI suspended license, speeding 26 miles per hour over the limit, failure to maintain required insurance, reckless driving and resisting arrest. He also faces charges in Indiana.
