Man Arrested after Burglary Attempt in Daviess County Early Friday
The Daviess County Sherriff’s office has made an arrest early this (Friday) morning after an Owensboro man tried to break into a building. At 1:00am, deputies responded to the Lamplite Trailer Park on Office Lane where a caller said someone had a gun and was trying to break in a building. A suspect was found running into a trailer and, after some time, the man finally was detained. 52 year old Ricky D Lawson was alleged to have said to deputies he was a US Marshall. He had a holster with a weapon in it, handcuffs and a polo shirt with a KSP logo on it. Lawson was found to have no law enforcement affiliations. Lawson was charged with first degree burglary, impersonating a police officer, second degree disorderly conduct, two counts of third degree terroristic threatening, alcoholic intoxication among other charges.
