Man Arrested in Henderson County Early Tuesday after Scuffle with Deputies
A Henderson County man was arrested after allegedly assaulting Sheriff’s deputies early this (Tuesday) morning. The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office responded to US 60 West at 7th Street in Corydon just after midnight. There, they made contact with 53 year old Charles Powell which began to allegedly punch detective Bill Mills through the open driver’s side window of his vehicle. As other deputies responded, Powell continued to allegedly assault deputies until he was subdued by a tazer. Powell was arrested and charged with alcohol intoxication, 2nd degree assault of a police officer, resisting arrest and third degree criminal mischief. He is lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center.
