Owensboro Police Announces 29th Annual Night Out Event

This August 7th is the 29th annual National Night Out event in Owensboro.

The Housing Authority of Owensboro, the Owensboro Police Department, the HL Neblett Community Center, Target and various community businesses and organizations are joining together to both combat crime and strengthen neighborhood ties, with a festival in honor of “National Night Out.” The focus of this event is to raise awareness, safety, and neighborhood unity in the fight against drugs and crime in the community.

National Night Out is designed to:
Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts
Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community partnerships
Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back

The festival will be at the H.L. Neblett Community Center from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. There will be free activities for the children, food, music and a dunking booth to raise money for Owensboro Crime Stoppers, the tip line that pays cash rewards for information that leads to arrests in local crimes. Join us for an evening of fun and awareness as we celebrate the community’s efforts towards a safer Owensboro!
