The Owensboro Police Department wants to inform the public of a road closure.

Units on scene are advising that West 4th Street at the intersection with Maple Street is closed to eastbound traffic due to an accident with injuries which has caused power lines to impede the roadway. West 4th Street is expected to be closed for approximately 2 hours while crews make repairs to downed power lines.

Maple Street is open for northbound and southbound traffic. Semi-trucks are being advised to use Crabtree Avenue to W. Parrish Avenue.

The Owensboro Police Department will provide an update as soon as the roadway is reopened.
