Traffic Restrictions at Twin Bridges Thursday, Friday
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict traffic to one lane at various locations along US 41 near the 19 mile marker north of Henderson on Thursday & Friday, June 7 & 8, 2012. This is along US 41 near the US 41 Twin Bridges between Henderson and Evansville.
These lane restrictions are to allow a long-reach mower to cut grass and brush behind the guardrail along the bridge approaches.
Northbound traffic will be restricted to one lane on the Henderson side of the bridge starting about 8:00 a.m., CDT, on Thursday. This northbound lane restriction will run along US 41 on the bridge approach from near the KY 414/Stratman Road/Wolf Hills Road intersection to the bridge. Once work is finished along the Henderson end of the northbound bridge, the crew plans to move to the Evansville end of the Northbound bridge near Ellis Park.
On Friday, the crew plans to restrict southbound traffic along the approach at the Henderson end of the southbound bridge. This southbound lane restriction on Friday will also start about 8:00 a.m., CDT, and run along US 41from the south end of the bridge to near the KY 414/Stratman Road/Wolf Hills Road intersection.
Work at these sites near the US 41 Twin Bridges should be completed by about 2:30 p.m., each day to avoid creating congestion during the afternoon commute. This work is scheduled on a weather permitting basis.
Motorists are asked to slow down and use appropriate caution in the work zone where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are working along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
