Turn Signal Coming to US 41 at Rusher Creek Road in Evansville
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) recently awarded a contract for the installation of a traffic signal on U.S. Route 41 (U.S. 41) at Rusher Creek Road.
Hummel Electric, Inc. of Evansville, Indiana, was awarded the $300,000 contract to install a new signal at the intersection. As a part of the construction, the driving lane of U.S. 41 northbound, the passing lane of U.S. 41 southbound and Rusher Creek Road on the east side of U.S. 41 will all be closed near the intersection.
The restrictions will begin on or after Wednesday, June 20, as contractor’s crews begin building a left turn lane for southbound U.S. 41 traffic as well as installing a pressure sensor traffic signal that will be activated as vehicles approach the intersection.
It is anticipated that the restrictions will be removed in mid-August, weather permitting. Access to businesses and residences along the east side of U.S. 41 in this area can be maintained by using the Ruffian Way intersection.
INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a work zone. For the latest news and information about INDOT, please visit www.in.gov/indot or www.trafficwise.in.gov .
