Two Crashes on I-69 in Hopkins County Thursday Night Blocks Travel
Two crashes on the I-69/Western Kentucky Parkway Thursday afternoon kept the busy road closed for several hours. KSP reported the first crash at 5:20pm near the Dawson Springs exit when 49 year old Gregory A Fields of Summitville, Indiana was in his tractor-trailer hauling plastic pellets when a driver side tire dropped off the road. He attempted to regain control before overturning in the median blocking both one north and one southbound lane. Fields was transported to RegionalMedicalCenter. About a half hour later, at nearly the same location, 45 year old Bryant L Beckley of Memphis was in his tractor trailer hauling refrigerated foods. As he attempted to navigate around the earlier collision his rig left the road and struck a guardrail. No one was injured in the second collision. The road finally reopened just after 1 AM Friday.
