The trouble with the building of the new Technology Center for the Hopkins County Schools has taken yet another turn.
The Hopkins County School Board Monday voted to scrap the current, troubled building for a new building on a new site. They report the cost of the project is not expected to increase.A new report on the Grapevine Road building showed additional settlement was logged, causing even more concern. Construction was halted in December 2001 after then initial settlement was discovered.
The release did not say where the new construction will be located at.
So far, 6.3 million has been spent on the facility with a total project cost estimated at 15 million.
