The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department reported receiving a call that two women were possibly being held against their will, at gunpoint, by a man in a vehicle on Island Ford Road.
The vehicle was found on Nebo Road and a traffic stop was made where authorities found 45 year old Jeffery W Wigginton. Before the stop, he was allegedly observed throwing out a hand gun and a ski mask.
Both females were unharmed.
Wigginton was arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
