One Injured, One Arrested after Hopkins County Crash Monday Night
One person is in critical condition and another has been charged after a truck versus motorcycle crash in Hopkins County Monday night. The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department reported the crash on the 13000 block of Beulah Road. They say a truck, driven by Zack Skimehorn, was pulling a motorcycle, operated by 25 year old Daniel Bean of Dawson Springs. A second vehicle, driven by 38 year old Jimmie D Patterson, Jr., traveled over a hill and observed the two vehicles. As he swerved to avoid striking the truck, he instead struck the motorcycle. Bean was transported to Baptist Health Madisonville then later flown to St. Mary’s Medical Center. Patterson, who was allegedly impaired at the time of the collision, was transported to Baptist Health, where he was treated and released, then lodged in the Hopkins County Jail on one count of aggravated operating a motor vehicle under in the influence.
