Owensboro Man Arrested Thursday for Impersonating a Peace Officer

An Owensboro man was arrested early this (Thursday) morning and charged with impersonating a peace officer.
At about 3:30am, Owensboro Police responded to Unilever on Ragu Drive where a man tried to gain access to the property by telling them he was a reserve Daviess County Sheriff’s Deputy.  The man’s vehicle allegedly had flashing red and blue lights on it, along with a Department of Homeland Security sticker on the windshield.
After he was denied access, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department later found the 1997 Ford Mustang on the by-pass near Frederica Street.
45 year old David W Basham was arrested and lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center.
