Madisonville City Council Approves New Budget



           THE CITY OF MADISONVILLE HAS APPROVED ITS NEARLY 62 MILLION DOLLAR BUDGET FOR THE NEW FISCAL YEAR.

          THE NEW BUDGET INCLUDES A 2 PERCENT PAY INCREASE FOR CITY EMPLOYEES.

          ALSO YESTERDAY, THE COUNCIL AWARDED A BID FOR 215-THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT BREATHING EQUIPMENT, EARLY ALL OF WHICH IS PAID FOR BY A FEDERAL GRANT.


          AND, THE CITY AGREED TO USE COUNTY COAL SEVERANCE FUNDS IN THE AMOUND OF 100-THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR THE DEMOLITION OF THE OLD CITY HALL.
