Several Paving Projects Planned in Daviess County



A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans asphalt paving at several locations in Daviess County.  Work is expected to start this week at the following locations as weather allows:
 
Asphalt resurfacing is planned along KY 298 from South Fork Bridge at mile point 2.685 extending eastward to US 231 at mile point 5.261, a distance of 2.58 miles.  Yager Materials is the prime contractor on this $778,050 highway improvement project.  Once paving starts, work on this section of KY 298 should be completed in 2 to 3 weeks, weather permitting.
 
Asphalt resurfacing is planned along KY 144 from the intersection with KY 1389 at mile point 3.080 extending eastward to mile point 7.290 near the intersection with Boteler Road, a distance of 4.21 miles.  Yager Materials is the prime contractor on this $533,716 highway improvement project.  Once paving starts, work along this section of KY 144 should be completed in 2 to 3 weeks, weather permitting.
 
Night paving is planned along US 431 from mile point 10.6 near Theater Way extending northward to the US 60 intersection at mile point 11.389, a distance of 0.79 mile.  Yager Materials is the prime contractor on this $475, 132 highway improvement project.  The contractor plans to complete this work between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., nightly, to avoid traffic delays during peak travel periods.  Once paving starts, work along this section of US 431 is expected to take about 2 to 3 weeks to complete, weather permitting.
 
Motorists should be alert for equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel working in close proximity to traffic flow in these work zones.  Appropriate caution is required.
