Few stories are as timeless or reveal the courage and resilience of the human
spirit as well as The Miracle Worker. The stirring dramatization of the story of Helen Keller and her tutor Annie Sullivan has been mesmerizing audiences for decades.
“I have always had a soft spot in my heart for this story” stated David Probus, Director of the Felix E. Martin Jr. Hall. He continues “I cannot believe that we are hosting a company of this caliber here in Muhlenberg County. The Montana Repertory Theatre is one of the country’s oldest, and certainly the most respected, touring theatre companies.”
With this production, Montana Repertory Theatre continues their exploration of great American stories that penetrate the core of human experience. Over the past several years,
they have toured such classics as Bus Stop, To Kill a Mockingbird, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and Biloxi Blues. Each has allowed Montana Repertory Theatre to bring new vitality and vision to time-honored theatre pieces and to bring those plays to audiences across the country.
The Miracle Worker tells the story of Helen Keller, deaf and blind since infancy, who finds her way into the world of knowledge and understanding with the help of Annie Sullivan, her gifted tutor. In some of the most turbulent and emotion-packed scenes ever presented
on the stage, Helen overcomes rage and confusion to triumph over her physical disabilities.
“This particular tour features professionals that are members of the Actor’s Equity Association, which is the union of professional actors. These performers have trained and performed with some of the best. In looking over the bios of the cast, there are several that have extensive television and movie credits” said Probus. “This performance is touring in many Broadway ticket series throughout the country. These ticket prices range from $35- $85, and thanks to our incredible sponsors, we are offering our tickets for $10 for adults and $5 for students.”
Join us as we explore, through theatre, the heart of character and the mystery of courage.
