New State Park Managers Named at Lake Malone, Two Others
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Several Kentucky State Parks have new park managers this spring. They are:
David Riley is the park manager at Paintsville Lake State Park in Paintsville. Riley began working at the park in 2005 as a maintenance employee and later as a supervisor. Before that, he worked as store manager at Lowe’s in Paintsville and was a sales manager for Wheeler & Williams Hardware. Paintsville Lake has a campground, marina, fishing, hiking trails, picnic area and playground.
Teresa Wells is the park manager at Lake Malone State Park in Dunmor. She began working at Lake Malone in 2010 as a campground attendant and later as the business officer. She previously worked at Audubon Area Community Services in Owensboro as a family advocate and previously as a tax preparer. Lake Malone has a campground, boat ramp, fishing, hiking trails, a playground and picnic area.
Roy Johnson is the new manager at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park near Corbin. Johnson, a Whitley County native, recently retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service. He held several leadership positions, including advising the commander on combat support, Air Expeditionary Force deployment readiness, business operations, family member programs and resource management. Johnson oversaw food services, lodging activities, recreation, fitness and sports programs. Johnson replaces Dave Jordan, who transferred to General Butler State Resort Park in Carrollton. Cumberland Falls State Resort Park has a lodge, restaurant, cottages, hiking trails, fishing, camping, and other recreational activities as well as a great view of Cumberland Falls.
