Chain Reaction in Madisonville Monday Injures Three, One Charged



            A four car chain-reaction crash in Madisonville Monday afternoon sent three people to the emergency room and the driver to blame is facing charges.
            According to Madisonville Police, the crash took place just after 3:00pm at the south bound ramp off of Exit 42 on the Pennyrile Parkway.
            They say 50 year old Kenneth Benson of Greenville was approaching three cars that were either stopped or slowing down in the left turn lane.
            Benson allegedly hit a vehicle from behind, driven by 29 year old Jonathan Dame of Nebo.
            The crash send Dame’s vehicle into the back of a vehicle, driven by 25 year old Shannon Fox of Dawson Springs.  Fox’s vehicle turned over due to the impact and, in turn, struck a fourth vehicle, driven by 18 year old Samuel Goodman of Madisonville.
            Dame, Fox, and a passenger in Fox’s vehicle, 57 year old Daniel Saunders of Madisonville, were all transported to Baptist Health for their injuries.
            Benson was suspected to be under the influence and was placed under arrest and lodged at the Hopkins County Jail.
