National Weather Service storm assessment teams have determined that an EF-1 tornado touched down Sunday in Henderson County. Lasting about two miles and reaching estimated peak winds of 90 miles per hour, the unexpected twister damaged three homes and a mobile home about three and a half miles east of Robards. It landed just before 5:00pm. On Monday, damage teams also determined an EF-zero tornado briefly touched down in northeastern Muhlenberg County. It only travelled a half mile and reached an estimated peak wind of 75 miles per hour. Several small trees and limbs were blown down about six miles east of Central City. Areas that didn’t see violent weather Sunday did get periods of flash flooding as the system swept through.
