On Tuesday, June 24th, WKTG news director Brent Gardner and I had the unique pleasure of flying the beautiful skies above the tri-state. We traveled to Don Davis aviation on Hwy 136 in Henderson. There we were greeted by customer service representative Christa Burns who introduced us to Ryan Hobby, our flight instructor for the day. This introductory flight was arranged by projectpilot.org, a nonprofit organization of pilots formed to teach everyone who wants to fly how to fly. You can visit the website at www.projectpilot.org to find out more about this unique program and where they may be located near you. There are many different airports and flight schools in the tri-state area and you can find them at the website. We chose Don Davis Aviation as it was only a thirty minute drive from the station. Ryan Hobby was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and informative. He never seemed nervous until that last steep bank to the right. I was trying to do a barrel roll to no avail. We thank Ryan and all the folks at Don Davis Aviation for their professionalism and kindness. You can find them on the web at www.dondavisaviation.com or give them a call at 270-826-6000. Introductory flights cost as little as $59 and is well worth the time and money to take a flight in the friendly skies over the tri-state.
